Abortion Pill Reversal

Have you taken the first dose of the abortion pill? Do you regret your decision and wish you could reverse the effects of the abortion pill?

IT MAY NOT BE TOO LATE TO SAVE YOUR BABY.

Are You Making an Informed Choice?

Things to Consider

  • Panic will work against you.
  • Take a deep breath and relax.
  • Give yourself the chance to make a thoughtful and purposeful decision about what YOU want.

TheUnChoice.com reports that about 64% of those who have an abortion felt pressured by others into making that decision.

Be Medically Aware

  • Do you know the specific actions the doctor will perform on your body?
  • Are you prepared for the procedure's risks during and after, and what follow-up will they provide?
  • If you have had an ultrasound done, have you viewed the image of your baby? It is your legal right.

Be Emotionally Aware

Are you aware of the psychological consequences of an abortion you may experience immediately after or for the rest of your life?

There Are Risks to Abortion.

A surgical abortion takes only 10 minutes, but its effects can last a lifetime.

  • There is an increased risk of future miscarriage.
  • There are also increased risks of premature births and Breast Cancer.
  • Many women suffer flashbacks, anxiety attacks, and trouble sleeping.
  • Depression or thoughts of suicide are often experienced by women who choose abortion.
  • Problems bonding with current and future children are common.

Pregnancy Support Centers

Throughout the United States, there are over 3,000 Crisis Pregnancy Centers staffed by professionals and volunteers ready to provide assistance to women facing untimely or unplanned pregnancies.

Unlike many abortion providers, Pregnancy Support Centers offer pregnancy tests for free, regardless of income level. They also offer counseling and a wide range of services at no cost. Many pregnancy support centers offer maternity and baby clothes and baby equipment.

Some Pregnancy Support Centers offer advice on how a woman in school can continue her education or go on to earn an advanced degree. These centers offer real, tangible help and hope for women so they can realize they don’t have to choose between their own lives and the lives of their unborn children. These loving pregnancy support centers genuinely care about you and your unborn child.

Adoption

Adoption---A Loving Option!

Women do not “give up” anything when they choose adoption for their baby. They are choosing a life for their child. They are also helping a family struggling to conceive a child but cannot do so.

Parenthood

The prospect of raising a child can feel overwhelming, even if it is part of a plan. How will I afford this? Will I be a good parent? What if I don't have a partner? You are not alone.

These are common questions for any pregnant woman or couple. There are many resources out there to help put your mind at ease and prepare you for the greatest job you will ever have: parenthood.

If you are currently considering your options, please look below at the list of Maine Pregnancy support centers and Adoption support agencies.

Safe Haven Providers

In Maine, a person may relinquish a child, age 31 days or younger, directly to a safe haven provider without penalties. That person can (but is not required to) provide any details regarding the infant to the provider.

Therapists

Baby Boxes: In June 2021, Maine passed a law allowing the use of Baby Boxes in the state. We are currently waiting for Department of Health and Humas Services to write the required rules and regulations regarding their use before they can be implemented.

How does a baby box work?

Our goal is to encourage capable women to make healthy choices for themselves and their families. Open Arms Pregnancy Center is a 501c3 nonprofit operating in Augusta, Maine.

Our biggest programs are free pregnancy tests, emergency assistance, and a mom’s support group. With positive pregnancy tests, we give information about options and advise to our services.

We also offer emergency assistance making maternity clothes, baby clothes and diapers available for situations that need some immediate help. Clients can come in anytime during office hours and don’t need an appointment. They leave with a generous amount of everything from socks to blankets and an invitation to join the support group for ongoing assistance.

Our most popular program is a “mommy group” for women who are pregnant or who have a child under 3. The support group meets every Thursday evening and provides an opportunity for each individual to share whatever they are dealing with this week.

Each mom who attends the group gets to shop in our resources room and select something for her baby. Group is an opportunity for mentoring and for building caring, supportive relationships with other young moms. Members of the group have a group chat on messenger and share with each other and the leader throughout the week.

Group becomes an important support during the difficult time of transitioning to successful motherhood. If the need arises, more private conversation is also available during office hours.

Founded in 1992, the Shepherd’s Godparent Home is a crisis center located in Bangor, Maine. Their doors opened to residents in 2003 and two shelter homes house young women in their teens up to their 40s who are pregnant or parenting and are in crisis.

Their mission: to support life from conception to natural death. They offer help in difficult times to various situations that come their way.

Recently, we had a Dad reach out to us. Throughout the years he dropped off diapers, shared his successes, and other times, sought help.

Recently, he needed help. He didn’t have a job and was staying in his car. He was out of food and money. Two years clean and sober, he didn’t want to stay in the shelters. Humbly, he asked for something to eat.

We put together a bag of food.  Executive Director, Barbara Ford, and her husband invited him to dinner. They caught up on his kids, his plans, and gave him more food gathered from the Godparent Home. He was humbly thankful.

As he left Barbara told him, “I want you to know we love you. More importantly, Jesus loves you. We care about what happens to you.” Looking at her, this 44-year-old, 6’ 5” 300lb+ recovering addict grown man had tears in his eyes. Choked up, he said: “it’s been a long time since someone said those words to me. I love you guys too. Really, thank you...”

Sheltering Moms, Nurturing Babies. In 2019, with the help of others who also recognized the need and shared this vision, a steering committee was formed. Their vision of a faith-based, non-profit residential home, situated in Central Maine. This home would shelter expectant mothers through pregnancy and offer them hope and support while raising their babies through the first year. All mothers are welcome without regard to race, national origin, socioeconomic status, or religious affiliation.

Services and products provided will be donor supported, at no cost to the residents and include food, shelter, life skills and parenting classes, mentoring, and transportation. In 2022 our community responded, and we can’t express how grateful we are.

We extended our faith in a creative offer on a renovated farmhouse. We are so excited to introduce you to The Charlane M. Chapman House in Hebron, Maine. It is located amongst beautiful farmlands, while just a quick drive to the conveniences of town. Our new home comes with 8 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a large family-style kitchen, and carriage house.

Nurturing life in Lewiston - where neighbors help neighbors. On Free Market Day, sidewalks around the Family Support Center are alive with moms and babies, new immigrant families, seniors, disabled adults, and unhoused teens.

Though these segments of the community all struggle with challenges, on Market Day there is hope in the air. The Free Women’s Health Clinic and the Free Family Thrift Store offer free services at the markets too. But the most popular is the weekly food! After “shopping” for free fruits/veggies, meats/dairy, baked goods, etc., most leave with smiles, kids skipping, and arms laden with delicious/healthy foods.

When recession, unemployment, global violence, and Covid caused the already-struggling former mill town to feel greater pangs of food insecurity, Hope House noticed. Food had become the most-requested service of this inner-city center. Almost half the neighborhood’s children live in poverty and over 1/3 of households use SNAP (food stamps),* which only provides food for about half the month.

With up to half the households having no car, Hope House made sure nutritious food was readily available downtown. Hope House’s expanded food program has seen diverse and discouraged neighbors rise up, side by side, to become their own solution.

These neighbors have overseen donation pick-up, food-sorting/set-up, market operation, and delivery of food boxes to neighborhood shut-ins. Free Market Days have become community celebrations of life!

At Adoption Solutions of Maine, we believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged and every other stage or condition from conception to natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life.

The decision to place for adoption is extremely difficult. Our agency focuses on protecting and serving the mother and child by providing education, support, and guidance throughout their journey. The health and safety of our birth mothers and their babies is our first priority. We build a relationship with potential adoptive families and stand by them throughout the process. We help adoptive and birth families keep in contact post adoption, as we advocate for an open adoption relationship.

Our agency works closely with a respectable adoption lawyer as well as other local pregnancy/parenting resources throughout the State of Maine. Our caring staff offers excellent support and services stemming from their professional training, education, and personal experiences. “It’s okay not to feel okay about an abortion. Paths toward hope, mercy, and healing are available.” If you regret having an abortion or are struggling with abortion’s impact on you or your family, Project Rachel offers help. They know there is much controversy in society about abortion. They also know abortion can cause intense emotional and spiritual pain. That is why Project Rachel does not judge or condemn.

Through Project Rachel, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, Maine, offers hope, understanding, and healing to women and men whose lives have been affected by abortion. The team hosts Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat Weekends in Maine (usually in the spring), develops tools for parish leaders, and compiles other resources to help each person become a source of compassion and healing for those impacted by abortion.

Perhaps you aren’t ready for a retreat. That’s okay, too. Hope, mercy, and healing are a confidential phone call. Email or online message away. The members of the Project Rachel team are there to help you through your struggle.

Leave a confidential message to begin sharing your struggle with Project Rachel:

While the Catholic Church organizes Project Rachel and Rachel’s Vineyard Retreats, you do not need to be Catholic to participate in any program or receive support along your path toward hope, mercy, and healing post-abortion.
