post-abortive support.

grace. hope. healing.

Post-abortive care is a crucial aspect of ensuring the emotional well-being of women after an abortion who may experience a range of feelings that may cause distress. Access to counseling or support groups can help women process those emotions and feel less isolated. Providing comprehensive, nonjudgmental care promotes healing and helps individuals move forward.

“It’s okay not to feel okay about an abortion. Paths toward hope, mercy, and healing are available.” If you regret having an abortion or are struggling with abortion’s impact on you or your family, Project Rachel offers help. They know there is much controversy in society about abortion. They also know abortion can cause intense emotional and spiritual pain. That is why Project Rachel does not judge or condemn.

Through Project Rachel, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, Maine, offers hope, understanding, and healing to women and men whose lives have been affected by abortion. The team hosts Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat Weekends in Maine (usually in the spring), develops tools for parish leaders, and compiles other resources to help each person become a source of compassion and healing for those impacted by abortion.

Perhaps you aren’t ready for a retreat. That’s okay, too. Hope, mercy, and healing are a confidential phone call. Email or online message away. The members of the Project Rachel team are there to help you through your struggle.

While the Catholic Church organizes Project Rachel and Rachel’s Vineyard Retreats, you do not need to be Catholic to participate in any program or receive support along your path toward hope, mercy, and healing post-abortion.

A little grace can lift the heaviest of weights.
